Vintage Cobalt Blue Bud Vase with Sunset Seascape Resin Ocean Finish

A beautiful one of a kind piece of vintage cobalt blue glass. This stunning piece of glass, a tall, slender bud vase, or ornament, has been transformed into a vintage item with a modern twist. I specialise in transforming old glass vessels into new and modern items, by breathing new life into them - often lights and lamps - but on this occasion a beautiful bud vase. I have turned this by hand and used resin in shades of gold, copper, bronze with a hint of silver, to create a setting sun ocean effect. I then used a little white to create that beautiful frothy seafoam, which really brings it to life and gives a sense of movement. It is entirely unique, and the colour combination is truly stunning. The vessel itself is tall and slender, and would grace any home. It would also make a beautiful gift.

I seek out my old glass vessels from all kinds of places. I am quite particular about what I use, and if a piece of glass is beautiful and 'grabs' me, I sometimes live with it for quite a long time before I decide what I am going to do to it - this was one of those pieces. Cobalt blue glass is an absolute favourite of mine, and I have a small collection of vintage perfume bottles in exactly this colour, so this piece almost never made it into the studio! I loved the sleek elegant shape of it. I knew it had to be something a bit special for this piece, and I mixed my resin in these colours just for this piece. I am absolutely delighted with the results, a tiny part of me wants to keep it - but I know it will make someone very happy, so I'm setting it free to find its new owner!
