Original Dragonfly Painting, Mixed Media, presented in Black Mount. Unique OOAK Art from Cornwall

A beautiful painting of a dragonfly. I adore dragonflies, and am lucky enough to live where I get to see, and study them, regularly. Their speed and grace fascinates me, and the way their wings glittering and shimmer. Something that is much easier to see when they are at rest on a Reed or leaf. And that is what I have tried to capture here.

This is a mixed media piece, the body painted with paints I mix myself. The paint has a 'textured' and 'fluid' appearance that is almost impossible to capture with my camera. The wings are painted with shimmering watercolours, that have an iridescence to them that changes with the viewing angel.

My painting is presented in a black, 8 x 10 inch mount. It is the original and there are no prints.
