This beautiful, warm, autumnal lamp has been handmade, by me, and is completely unique. I have carefully selected a range of Acer, aka Maple tree, leaves from my garden, and used them to hand print this light. The glass vessel is made from new eco glass, and I firstly frosted the glass in a warm gold/bronze toned base layer. I then handprinted the vessel, flowing the prints around all 4 sides of the light. I layered up the prints in shades of Autumn. The colours are rich Reds, oranges, and mauves through to purple. I then fired the glass to seal the design to the glass. I had fantastic , messy, fun making this light, and had as much paint up my arms as on the glass by the time I'd finished it! I really wanted to make a couple of nature themed lights (I have another with green fern leaves in my store) that reflected my love of all plants, and my second passion after my art - my garden. It has been wired with a 2 meter cable, a UK 3 pin plug, and a B22 super low energy led bulb. This light can happily take a brighter bulb - it's entirely dependent on how much, and what kind of light, you wish it to emit. It throws out gorgeous warm light, and adds a real cosy glow to a room. Originally I had a brighter bulb in it, but it was impossible to photograph. I will admit that taking pictures of my lights is tricksy at the best of times - but these were almost impossible. They are far, far better in real life! This is one of a kind, as when I had finished printing it, the actual leaves I used were rinsed and composted - so they no longer exist! I really enjoyed the process of this, and if it gets a good response I would like to make more, using different foliages. This would be a perfect gift for a plant lover, especially if, like me, they have a garden full of Acer trees! I do love them, all my Maples are currently putting on a spectacular autumn show in the garden. If their house is like mine - essentially a massive greenhouse - then this would fit right in!
