It is a legal need to have a disciplinary and grievance policy when hiring employees. However, rather than including it into the employment contract, we urge that you have this as a separate policy.
This policy has been drafted in accordance with the LRA Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures, and provides explicit direction on how to resolve any concerns based on the gravity of the situation. As an employer, it is your responsibility to provide employees with a fair and timely resolution to any grievances they may have.
