About the event
Spend an enjoyable Summer evening over at Grandma’s Garden, a sustainable local cut flower garden, based in Southam Cheltenham with Emma from Nature’s Inspiration.
Upon arrival (5.30pm) you will be greeted with a glass of homemade foraged, by Emma, elderflower cordial and sparkling water. We will then take a tour with Amy of Grandma’s Garden and Emma of the cut flower garden before choosing at least 5 stems per person to press.
We will be focussing on flowers with a single layer of petals or natural flat bloom for a beginner friendly workshop. Admire and discuss those more complex beautiful blooms for those wanting to further the art of flower pressing and preservation at a later stage.
Discover how to ‘condition’ flowers ready to press, to ‘sandwich’ botanicals, avoid moisture, change papers and what you can do once they are fully dried and pressed. Your beautiful UK made flower presses are yours to take home after the workshop.
Emma will bring a few examples of what you can do at home, or gather with friends or family to give your flowers the recognition they deserve.
Once you have filled your presses we will celebrate with nibbles and a glass of prosecco or non-alcoholic elderflower fizz before you depart home at 8.30pm. (Please advise any allergies or dietary requirements).
Parking is available and spaces are limited to please do book early to avoid disappointment. £55pp including all tuition, materials, nibbles and refreshments.
**Please note if we are expecting rain on the day of the workshop we will pre-pick your stems to ensure they are fully dry ahead of your workshop to pop in your press as flower pressing and moisture are not friends!
